5 Skincare Mistakes You Might be Making

With so much information out there, it’s tough to know what you should be doing with your skincare and what you should be avoiding.

With so much information out there, it’s tough to know what you should be doing with your skincare and what you should be avoiding. We get it! But we are here to give you some guidance on the skincare mistakes you might be making and how to avoid them.

#1 Using Products that don’t work well together

It can be exciting to see your favorite influencer post about the skincare products they love to use, and I know we have all fallen for the trap of buying products off a whim. But if the products you use don’t work well together, you could be doing more damage than good.

Let’s say you have a skincare routine that targets acne, but you start using a new product that targets anti-aging. Without knowing it, you could be worsening your acne with the ingredients that are in your anti-aging product. At Touch Skin Care, we have made it super simple for you to know which products work well together.

With all the different bundles we offer, the guess work has been taken out for you. Target your KP with our KP Bundle. Or if you are having issues with acne, our Acne Bundle can help treat stubborn acne. The Anti-Aging Bundle is perfect for you if your skin goals are to look young forever! And last but not least, the Bright & Clear Bundle is the bundle for you if you want to treat hyperpigmentation or discoloration.

 #2 Not using SPF

Did you know that the sun can penetrate through glass windows and affect your skin even if you’re indoors? That’s why even if you’re still stuck in quarantine or working from home, SPF should always be in your routine.

Dermatologists recommend SPF of at least 15 to 30 for daily use, and SPF 30 is definitely a good sweet spot. With our Anti-Aging SPF 30 Moisturizer, not only are you protecting your skin from the harmful rays the sun emits, you’re also hydrating it with antioxidants like Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and hyaluronic acid.

#3 Not Exfoliating enough or Exfoliating too much

Most people either do one or the other: exfoliating every single day, or not exfoliating at all. And both of these are a skincare mistake that can be easily avoided! Experts recommend that you exfoliate two to three times per week, and less than that if you have sensitive skin. Some exfoliating products can be used more (or less) than 2-3 times a week, so make sure to follow the directions.

Our Microdermabrasion Scrub works best if used 1-2 times per week. With the use of Alumina, the scrub works to exfoliate away dull layers of the skin to reveal brighter, smoother skin. With green tea, chamomile, and aloe vera extracts, the Microdermabrasion Scrub also provides hydrating and anti-inflammatory properties. The perfect addition to your self-care day!

#4 Forgetting to take makeup off at night

After a long and tiring day, taking your makeup off can be the last thing you want to do, we get it! But if you get in the habit of taking your makeup off every night (before you get too tired) then your skin will definitely thank you for it.

The skin renews itself at night. So when you sleep with makeup on, the makeup absorbs deeper into the pores, disrupting the skin cell regeneration process, which can lead to makeup-induced acne.

Bottom line - make sure you are removing your makeup and cleansing your skin every night!

#5 Skipping moisturizer

Even if you have oily skin, moisturizer is an important step to any skincare routine. Moisturizing your skin helps to maintain your skin’s healthy cells and prevent it from irritation. Another plus to moisturizing is it keeps your skin appearing young (and I think we all want that, right?).

With our Bright & Clear Cream or our Glycolic Acid Cream, you can add necessary hydration into the skin on a daily basis. Skipping this step can lead to dry skin, which can cause skin problems to occur.

"Everybody makes mistakes, but don’t let your skincare be one of them…"

By avoiding these simple mistakes, you can really make sure you’re getting the most out of your skincare routine.
