Back to School Skincare Tips

It’s officially back to school season! Whether you’re a college student or in high school, it’s always important to maintain a clear complexion. Especially if you have acne-prone skin (very common for young adults), you definitely want to stay on top of your skincare regimen.

But if you have no idea where to even start, here are our top three tips for making sure your skin stays glowing while you are getting your education on!

Tip #1: Dedicate to your skincare routine

When you have to be at school bright and early, it’s so easy to just roll out of bed and head out the door. But if you’re set on reaching your skincare goals, dedicate time to your skincare routine both morning and night! Throughout the night, the skin accumulates oil so it’s best to wash your skin first thing in the morning.

At Touch, we make it easy for you to start your skincare routine today. With our skincare bundles, you no longer have to worry about purchasing twenty different products and stress about whether they work together or not. Simply determine what your main skin concern is, and there’s a bundle for it! Acne-prone skin? Check out our Acne bundle. Want to brighten up and clear your skin? Check out our Bright & Clear bundle. Worried about dark spots and hyperpigmentation? We now have a new bundle, our Spotless bundle, that helps for this!

Tip #2: Minimize the amount of times you touch your face

When you’re stuck in a boring lecture, it’s natural to rest your head in your hands and doze off. But the more you touch your skin, the more you risk bacteria entering your skin. If you are prone to oily skin, touching your face can worsen the presence of skin oil. Every time you touch your face, you are spreading oil from one part of your face to the other. Constantly touching your face can also clog your pores, which can lead to an outbreak of acne.

If you do find yourself touching your skin all the time and it’s causing you to experience breakouts, our acne treatment gel will help clear it right up. With 2.5% of benzoyl peroxide, this gel is a fast-acting effective acne treatment that fights facial and body acne, prevents future breakouts, and reduces redness.

Tip #3: Exfoliate regularly

Since it is common to experience acne as a young adult, it’s important to exfoliate the skin regularly, especially since you are at school for long periods of time on a daily basis and your skin is being exposed to many different particles in the environment. By exfoliating regularly,  your skin appears brighter and it also improves the effectiveness of topical skin care products by enhancing absorption. Regular exfoliation with a glycolic body wash can also help prevent clogged pores, resulting in fewer breakouts.

A great step-by-step process for exfoliating the skin is to start off with our Glycolic Acid Cleanser. This cleanser is gentle yet effective and it works to remove the dead skin cells, leaving the skin appearing fresh and radiant. After cleansing the skin, you can either use the Glycolic Acid Toner or the Glycolic Acid Pads to give yourself an extra exfoliating step. Let the skin absorb the toner for a couple of minutes and then apply a calming moisturizer to the skin, like our Collagen Moisturizer. This step-by-step exfoliating routine will leave your skin feeling clean and glowy, but since exfoliating is a deeper skin wash, it’s best to exfoliate only twice a week. For quick exfoliation choose Glycolic Acid pads, but if you like to pamper yourself and enjoy a spa-like skincare routine, add a Glycolic Acid Lotion to the mix.

Just like you stay consistent with studying, make sure to do the same with your skincare!

When it comes to skincare, it’s always best to do preventative care rather than correcting the skin later in life. So if you’re young and you care about your skincare, then you will thank yourself when you’re older as you age gracefully!
